What is a Lummeca IPL Treatment?
Lumecca intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment is a non-invasive light-based technology that targets various skin issues, including red spots, acne scars, freckles, and rosacea. The treatment works by emitting multiple wavelengths of light that are absorbed by the melanin in the skin or hemoglobin in blood vessels, depending on the target. This absorption generates heat, which helps to break down pigmentation and coagulate blood vessels, leading to improvements in skin tone and texture.

Lumecca IPL Questions Answered
What does Lumecca IPL treat?
Lumecca IPL can treat sun damage, rosacea, and vascular-based concerns like broken capillaries (this can be done on any area of the body).
Why is Lumecca IPL worth it?
Lumecca IPL is worth considering due to its ability to address a range of skin concerns. It is a non-invasive procedure that requires minimal to no downtime. Lumecca IPL stimulates collagen production which is essential to maintaining skin elasticity and firmness. The Lumecca IPL treatment sessions are relatively quick and many clients report visible improvements in skin tone, texture, and pigmentation.
Lumecca IPL work?
The handpiece of the Lumecca device emits intense pulses of light which contains multiple wavelengths and is selectively absorbed by the target structures in the skin, such as melanin (responsible for pigmentation) or hemoglobin (found in blood vessels). When the light is absorbed it gets converted to heat which helps break down pigmentation or to coagulate blood vessels.
Does Lumecca IPL hurt?
No, the most you will feel is a warm sensation and a pinch in the area being treated.
Is Lumecca IPL safe?
Yes, when done correctly by a skilled practitioner, it is a safe treatment.
Can Lumecca IPL be combined with other aesthetic treatments?
Yes, unlike other treatments, Lumecca addresses skin quality and the appearance of your skin. For example, filler is great to restore volume but it does very little for how your skin looks. Lumecca IPL is a great addition to your treatment plan.
