During the appointment you will get a cleanse and exfoliation. The peel will be applied with two to three coats depending on skin tolerance. Once it’s dry, sunscreen and moisturizer are applied. There are many options for chemical peel products, we use the Jessner peel and the Vivier peel by Vivier. It is a pharmaceutical grade peel that consistently produces visible results. What's the protocol after a Chemical Peel? Can I wash my face? Exfoliate? Shower?!
Post care depends on the peel being used. Some are self neutralizing and can be left on until the next day. After that, washing your face with warm water, a gentle cleanser and moisturizing is key. Sunscreen is also extremely important as healing takes place. Showering is fine the day after and you can use a retinol and other exfoliants after a week.
